Fusing contemporary design vision with traditional glass-making craft, Alexa Lixfeld presents a limited series of dynamic one-off centerpieces. Appearing in a kaleidoscope of colors, each sculpture invites infinite interpretation: organic, bodily, galactic. The glass retains the spirit of the fire it was made from, and the memory of the breath. Indentations and air-bubbles make each mouth-blown, freehand-shaped piece entirely unique. Lixfeld’s assembly of rare creations includes this ‘Tension’ vase, whose planetary quality and serpentine detail appear in a clean and bright apricot sorbet hue. The piece possesses a distinctly alive quality, along with characteristics and detailing that are all its own.
